Chaussures de sécurité et chaleur : comment éviter la transpiration ?

Safety shoes and heat: how to avoid sweating?

Summer is here and the heat waves are coming. For outdoor workers, wearing safety shoes in the heat is often a sign of torture. If this is the case, then the pair of safety shoes may not be suitable and the sole material may not allow the feet to breathe.

We will see that it is possible to avoid sweating during the summer. All you need is the right type of shoes and our 4 tips to keep your feet dry all day long.

Anti-perspirant safety shoes:

You can choose a pair of very light safety sneakers. This is an excellent alternative to leather safety shoes.

Most models are made of a ventilated mesh upper. This is a more or less tightly woven mesh that allows air to pass through. There is also a sole that slips inside the shoe with an antiperspirant property. Made of open cell polyurethane (very breathable), it facilitates the evacuation of perspiration.

Thermally insulated safety shoes are essential PPE for certain workplaces. They can be worn without fear during the summer. The material of the upper is specially designed to allow the feet to breathe in all circumstances.

1. Use appropriate socks

Cotton will be your best ally for your feet, especially in summer. Used by top athletes, cotton absorbs perspiration. If you suffer from hyperhidrosis, it is better to change your socks several times a day.

2. Have two pairs of safety shoes

If possible, get a second pair of safety shoes to alternate from one day to the next. This will give them plenty of time to dry properly.

3. Maintain your feet

Take care of your feet by eliminating the horn (nest of bacteria) and by treating them regularly with a foot bath with lavender or black tea essential oils. You can also rub them with alum stone to remove odors.

4. Maintain your insoles

If you have removable insoles, you'll need to take them out every night. Leave them out overnight. Have a spare pair of insoles so you can wash them once a week.

The days of heavy, stuffy safety shoes are long gone. Today, there are many lightweight, breathable safety shoes that fit all work environments. With proper care, your feet will always be hygienic, even in summer!
